    1.  "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." - John 14:6

Only through Jesus and following his teachings can we truly live a good life on earth.

    2. "Love your neighbor as yourself." - Mark 12:31

    3. "Do to others as you would have them do to you." - Luke 6:31

Both #2 and #3 are universal life rules that if everyone on earth would follow them, there would be world peace!

    4. "Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her." - John 8:7

The Pharisees caught her in the act of adultery, brought her in front of Jesus, and asked that she be stoned according to the Old Testament laws. Jesus reply is a lesson on how we should live a good life by not being quick to condemn or pass judgement on others. Rather, we should always remember, that we, ourselves, are not perfect. Strangely, what happened to the man together with this woman? Shouldn't he be stoned as well?

    5. "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." - Matthew 6:21

Sometimes, we may forget what we actually desire in our hearts. We deny accusations by others of our lack of compassion, care, etc. because we are blind to them. Others will see it clearly. And if we do reflect on our actions and inactions in our lives, we will find our true heart desires. Do this often, and you will find your own weaknesses that needed correction.

    6. "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." - John 8:12

    7. "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God." - Matthew 5:9

    8. "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." - Matthew 7:7

This quote is universal. Even leaders agree that since we are not perfect, it is ok to ask for help> And only when we ask for help can the help come. Many times, pride gets in the way of your own progression in life, either personally or professionally.

    9. "Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you." - Luke 6:27

This is difficult. But this quote breaks the cycle of hatred and quarrel. I had a neighbour who was an old, mean lady who constantly knocked at our door and accused us and my mom of doing things like dirtying her exterior walls (apartment) or moving her potted plants, which we didn't. It was difficult, especially when, if asked for evidence, she couldn't produce any. We were not on good terms, but I still respected her as an elderly person. There was animosity between us, and my mom disliked her. It lasted for several months then one day, following the above quote, I did my part and just smiled at her. Initially, she didn't respond. But I told myself, as long as I did my part, my conscience is clear. And soon enough, when we met again several weeks later, she smiled at me and gestured, "Good Day".  My mom and wife still held that animosity between them to this day because they chose not to follow what Christ taught us.

    10. "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." - Matthew 11:28

    11. "“Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven." - Luke 6:37 (similar to #3 and #4)

    12. "Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth." - Matthew 5:5

Many non-Christians laughed at this quote. How can the weak beat the strong?

In the early 1960s, people valued the strong and muscular and looked down on the weak, like the "geeks". Now look at what has happened. One of the richest men in the world is a "geek, eg. Bill Gates. Was he an extrovert or an introvert? Those who are humble and willing to learn and work will do great things! You can see so many others like Bill Gates in our lifetime.

    13. "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." - Luke 5:31-32)

    14. "Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself." - Matthew 6:34

Christians know this quote well, and it ties in with #22. If we cast our cares and trust in Jesus, and seek to know Him personally, everything else will be taken care of.

    15. "I am with you always, even to the end of the age." - Matthew 28:20

For Christians, this quote promises us that Jesus is always with us even now as you read this quote. Pray and believe and things will be according to His plan for you in life.

    16. "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." - Matthew 18:3

For Christians, this quote refers to the purity of heart that we find in children. Young children are carefree and always eager to learn about things around them. They are normally humble and curious and would know to always want to do the right thing according to their conscience.

Wait! There are kids who have murdered people!

Yes - but if you analysed the cases carefully, who taught them about killing? Humans naturally do not kill one another. It is only when we covet and desire do we sin.

    17. "No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money." - Matthew 6:24

This quote is very true today. You can see that many pursue wealth as if it were their god and will do anything to get it, even hurting others.

    18. "What is impossible with man is possible with God." - Luke 18:27

    19. "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's." - Matthew 22:21

What does the quote say? Basically, God put in place the government to rule the land; and protect us from harm. Whatever we owe the government, we return to them, e.g., taxes

    20. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." - John 3:16

Only through Jesus will we be saved. And if do believe in Jesus, we would following his commandments.

Faith comes from having believed in God first. Without belief and trust in God, there is no faith because faith is knowing and believing God's promise for you.

    8. "To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven." - Ecclesiastes 3:1

We cannot do everything at once. There is a time for things to happen and to be done.  Life is like taking a bus. The bus comes on schedule, and we board the bus when we are ready to go on a trip. If you are not ready, you cannot make the trip. Walking with God in the past few months has been a wonderful experience, and I learned that God is a God of Precision! God has been kind to me thus far and has protected me. Strangely, almost 90% of the time, God protected me from the rain and guided me to the bus stop just in time for the scheduled bus. Truly amazing!

    18. "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." - Colossians 3:23

Christians need to embrace this in their daily work lives. Whatever you do, do it the best you can, as if you are working for the Lord. By doing so, God will bless your work - not because I say so, but because you followed what God commanded you to do in His will. Wherever God has placed you, learn contentment and pursue excellence.

    19. "Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path." - Psalm 119:105
